Daniel Radcliffe
Daniel Radcliffe was born on the 23rd of July,
1989 in Fulham a suburb inside London.
His parents, Alan Radcliffe and Marcia Gresham have always been supportive
with their son and encouraged him to pursue acting.
Daniel Radcliffe was fist recognized worldwide after
the release of the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s
Stone in which we landed the role of the main character, Harry Potter.
He first discovered his desire to perform “acting”
at the age of five. He applied for the role of “Oliver Twist”,
a Charles Dickens TV production. Unfortunately, he did not land the
role but went on to appear as the young “David Copperfield”
from the production David Copperfield (1999).
A few years later, he got the role of Mark Pendel
in The Tailor of Panama (2001). Actor Lee Curtis, one of the partners
Dan had on the sets of The Tailor of Panama had pointed to Daniel’s
mother that he could be Harry Potter himself.
After having seen Dan in "David Copperfield",
Director Chris Columbus had Dan brought in for an audition.
Daniel received the great news of his acceptance to portray Harry Potter
while bathing. To his surprise, his father received a phone call and
was told that his son landed the part.
Dan admittedly cried with happiness and even woke himself in the middle
of the night to ask his dad if it was a dream!
The release of the first Harry Potter movie had
brought Daniel worldwide fame. He appeared on numerous popular TV talk
shows such as The Today Show, Rosie O`Donnell, Oprah and many more.
Daniel Radcliffe has so
far completed filming for the first five Harry Potter movies and is
confirmed for filming the last two, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.
