Harry
Potter, an apparently normal boy has been living the first 10 years of his
life sleeping under the stairs of a family that hates him. Every day was
the same for him. He is regarded by his aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon Dursley
as the worst thing that ever happened to them. After his parents died, Harry
was left on the doorstep of the Dursleys along with a note when he was only
1 year old. That was the beginning of 10 years worth suffering for him.
As the years passed, Harry started to discover that
he was not exactly an average kid. Strange things happened when he was around.
Right after he turns 11, he receives an unexpected visit from a very big
guy called Hagrid. Harry is told about a totally new world, hidden from
the eyes of Muggles (people who can’t do magic), a world full of magic.
He discovers that he’s a wizard and therefore invited to Hogwarts,
School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a place where all kids must go in order
to start their life in the wizard society. This is Harry's ticket for escaping
the Dursleys.
In the first book, Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s stone, Harry
finds out more about his origins, about the evil wizard (Voldemort) who
murdered his parents. Many adventures await Harry and his new friends, Ron
and Hermione in this new world where not everything is in bright colors.
